Archery Lessons

The next round of archery lessons starts April 21. Online registration is now open, and links to registration forms can be found on our Current Lessons page.

Four times a year (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer), the KAC offers a series of eight lessons for beginners (mixed adults and children) and intermediate, usually held on Saturday afternoons; Summer lessons are held on weekday evenings.

The lessons are held on our indoor range in the basement of St. Luke's Church on 236 Nelson St., just off Princess St*. The basement is at the bottom of the stairs through the Main (left) entrance. The lessons are available to all archers of any skill level, from ages 8 and up. They focus primarily on basics, and cover archery skill and safety.

All the necessary equipment are provided to the students (recurve bow, arrows, target, and protective gear). Students are asked to wear close-toed shoes and clothing without buttons/fastenings in locations where they might tangle with the bowstring (front, pockets, collar, etc).

Registration is primarily online, but in-person registration is at 12:30PM, and all fees are due at registration. The fee for the full course of eight beginner lessons is $130.00, the full course of eight intermediate lessons is $140.00. Students or the parents of minor students will need to register and sign a waiver of liability before beginning lessons. If you wish to provide your own equipment, please discuss it with the instructor beforehand and have the equipment checked for safe working order.

In any season where an Intermediate Course cannot be offered, we encourage students to join the club and use club practice sessions at the indoor or the outdoor range (depending on season, please see the calendar) to build up their skills.

Please check our current lessons page for the latest offerings.

*Parking is available in the Church parking lot, nearby on Nelson Street and around the Memorial Centre. Please do not park directly in front of either of the church's doors.
